What Questrade data you can sync to Google Sheets
Finta can sync the kinds of data below. What you get depends on the accounts you connect.
- Transactions
- Sort, filter, categorize, and use transactions in the destination you choose.
- Investments
- Use holdings and investment activity when the connected account provides them.
In Google Sheets
Your Questrade data in a spreadsheet
Finta adds your Questrade data to a Google Sheet and keeps it current. Depending on the accounts you connect, the sheet can include Accounts, Transactions, Balance History, Securities, Holdings, and Investment Transactions. Use the records in your own formulas, filters, and reports.
Holdings and trades
Your Questrade portfolio, column by column
Quantity, every trade, and cost basis (when Questrade reports it) come from Questrade. Finta adds Symbol, Security Close Price, Total Value, and Gain / Loss as formulas when it creates the Holdings tab, so you can see them, change them, or build on them.
Holdings tab
Sample data
| Symbol | Security Type | Quantity | Cost Basis | Security Close Price | Total Value | Gain / Loss |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| VTI | etf | 42 | 9,450.00 | 298.12 | 12,521.04 | 32.50% |
| AAPL | equity | 15 | 2,610.00 | 231.40 | 3,471.00 | 32.99% |
| BND | etf | 60 | 4,620.00 | 73.85 | 4,431.00 | -4.09% |
Investment Transactions tab
Sample data
| Date | Symbol | Transaction Type | Transaction Subtype | Quantity | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-10-03 | AAPL | sell | sell | -5 | 228.75 |
| 2026-09-30 | BND | buy | dividend reinvestment | 0.21 | 73.40 |
| 2026-09-15 | VTI | buy | buy | 2 | 291.10 |
The data is fictional and shows a few of each tab's columns. Total Value is Security Close Price times Quantity, and Gain / Loss is a percent: Total Value divided by Cost Basis, minus 1. Close prices are the last market close, so Total Value can differ from what Questrade shows during trading hours.
- Holdings
- Account, Symbol, Security Name, Quantity, Cost Basis, Base Currency, and Last Update, plus Security Close Price, Security Type, Total Value, and Gain / Loss as a percent. One row per position in each account.
- Securities
- Symbol, name, security type, and the last close price with its date. Option details are optional fields. To get them, open the Securities table settings in Finta and use Add Field to add Option Contract Type, Option Expiration Date, Option Strike Price, and Option Underlying Ticker. They fill in when Questrade reports the contract.
- Investment Transactions
- Date, security, quantity, price, amount, fees, and currency for each buy, sell, dividend, fee, and transfer. The subtype tells a dividend from a dividend reinvestment, a contribution, or an interest payment.
Keep a history, not just today's positions
Finta keeps one Holdings row per position and updates it in place. Sell a position and its row stays, with Quantity set to 0, as long as the account still holds something. If you sell everything in an account, its old rows keep their last values, and Last Update shows when each one last synced.
For value over time, add Balance History. Finta stores each account's balance once a day and adds a dated row, so you build a daily record of what each Questrade account was worth.
Want position-level snapshots too? At month end, copy the Holdings tab and paste its values into a new tab named for the date.

Timing and limits
Sync timing varies by connection and destination
Your source connection decides when new data is available. Finta syncs supported updates according to the source connection and Google Sheets behavior.
Source and destination permissions
Plaid handles sign-in, so Finta doesn’t receive or store your Questrade password. The financial connection is read-only. Finta cannot move money. Writing into your Google Sheet is a separate permission you give Google Sheets.

Questrade to Google Sheets questions
- Can I connect Questrade to Google Sheets?
- Yes. Connect your Questrade accounts through Finta, choose what to sync, and connect Google Sheets.
- Which Questrade data can I use?
- Transactions and Investments may be available. What you get depends on the accounts you connect, and available fields depend on that connection.
- Does Questrade cost basis sync to Google Sheets?
- Yes, when Questrade reports it. Finta writes each position's total cost basis to the Cost Basis column. If Questrade doesn't report one for a position, that cell stays empty and so does its Gain / Loss.
- Can I track Questrade options in Google Sheets?
- Option positions sync as holdings. The contract details are optional Securities fields, so add them first. Open the Securities table settings in Finta and use Add Field to add Option Contract Type, Option Expiration Date, Option Strike Price, and Option Underlying Ticker. Those fields fill in when Questrade reports the contract.
- Does crypto show up?
- Only crypto that Questrade reports as a holding. Finta sets its security type to cryptocurrency. Coins you hold at a separate exchange aren't part of this connection.
- Does Finta move money or change my Questrade account?
- No. Finta cannot move money or change your account through the financial connection.
