MCP integration
Ask your AI anythingabout your finances
Finta MCP is a remote MCP server that connects your Finta account to a supported AI client. Authorize it once over OAuth and choose which accounts it can see. Your assistant then reads your real transactions, balances, and holdings. It can also make scoped changes to the data Finta manages.

From your connected accounts to the assistant you already use
Finta syncs your connected sources automatically, on timing each provider sets. Your AI client reads that stored data through MCP. It never touches your bank connections.

What your assistant can read, and what it can change
READS
Your financial data, as Finta already stores it
The same data families the other Finta destinations receive, available to your assistant on request.
- Accounts, balances, and daily balance history
- Transactions and the categories assigned to them
- Holdings and securities in investment accounts
- Investment transactions: buys, sells, dividends, cash activity
- Liabilities: payment amounts, due dates, interest rates
CONTROLLED WRITES
Finta-managed fields only, never your bank connection
Your assistant can tidy up the records Finta owns, including how bank-synced transactions are categorized. It cannot touch a bank-synced account itself.
- Manual accounts you created in Finta
- Categories and the groups they sit in
- Transaction categorization, one at a time or in bulk, including bank-synced transactions
- Rules, and re-running them over stored transactions
- A bank-synced account itself stays read-only; only its transaction metadata can change
Boundary
What MCP cannot doFinta MCP cannot move money. It cannot alter your bank connections. It cannot modify bank-synced accounts. It can write only to the manual accounts, categories, transaction categories, and rules that Finta manages for you. Finta never sees or stores your bank credentials, so MCP never has them to begin with.
Consent and control
You decide what it sees, and for how long
Every connection is authorized by you, scoped by you, and revocable by you at any time.
OAuth consent
You connect by signing in through Finta's OAuth flow, not by pasting a token. The consent screen summarizes what the client can access and change before you approve it.
Account scope
Choose which accounts a client can read at consent time, either all of them or a specific set. Rules it creates run over your full stored ledger, not just the accounts you selected. You can change your account selection later without reconnecting.
Storage Mode
MCP answers from the data Finta stores for you, so Storage Mode has to be on. Connecting a client turns it on for you. If you later switch it off, Finta permanently deletes your stored transactions, holdings, investment activity, categories, and balance history, and MCP has nothing left to read from them.
Revocation
Each client is its own connection. Disconnect any one of them from your Finta settings, and it loses access without affecting the others.
How it works
Three steps, then just ask
01
Add the server to your client
Point your AI client at the Finta MCP endpoint over remote HTTP. That is one line of config, or one menu in Claude.
02
Authorize scoped access
Sign in through Finta's OAuth consent screen, review what the client is requesting, and pick which accounts it may see. No API key to copy or store.
03
Ask your AI assistant
Ask in plain language and your assistant answers from your real accounts. Start with a maintained prompt template, or write your own.
